Herbs and spices

Sectors

Fresh and dried herbs and spices are sensitive ingredients that require strict monitoring for safety and quality. At QTI Services, we offer fast and accurate testing to detect pesticide residues, heavy metals, artificial dyes and microbiological contamination.

We provide rapid analysis for nitrates and pesticides including insecticides, fungicides and biocides. Dried herbs and spices are tested for heavy metals and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. We also detect illegal or harmful dyes such as Sudan dyes, as well as permitted azo dyes that must be correctly declared on product labels.

Due to the conditions in which herbs and spices are often grown and dried, microbiological risks are common. QTI Services offers a full range of microbiological testing including total aerobic count, lactic acid bacteria, Enterobacteriaceae, Salmonella species and pathogenic E. coli (EHEC STEC). Mycotoxin screening is also available.

With global sampling support and reliable lab results, QTI Services helps ensure your herbs and spices are safe, compliant and of high quality.
